Presenting: Moving Towards Cloud Solutions for an Integrated and Structured Product Lifecycle Management - 8 Mar 2016, 12:45
Finmeccanica is the largest Italian industrial group focused on defense, aerospace and security. Composed of 4 sectors and 7 divisions, each-one has its own specific history, products and programmes related to ICT tools, company requirements and constraints.
PLM has to be related to a business approach that requires IT solutions and also organizational changes in order to reach the desired outcomes. Different aspects (product data, people, processes, organization, IT technologies) need to be integrated together for competitive advantage for the company.
A PLM Framework has been developed to structure all the main elements and relationships in a dedicated software environment. Lean initiatives have been also launched to lead an engineering efficacy and efficiency initiative. Cloud solutions are then fundamental to promoting enhanced collaboration amongst the participants in the product lifecycle to ensure the integrated process management of products and services.
This session will cover:
- PLM issues in a big corporation
- Elements of a PLM structured framework
- Lean actions for processes optimization
- A vision on cloud solutions for PLM
- Lessons learned
